Cleaning Carrara Marble Shower

Marble shower and surround tiles can handle getting wet thanks to the surface seal. So your carrara marble countertops floors tile floors and even carrara marble showers should be sealed. Wipe the entire surface including the marble shower walls marble seats and marble shower floors with a clean cloth. Be sure to cover the entire surface with the microfiber cloth and marble cleaner.

Don t use soap as it is fat based and can cause the stone to darken. You can use a cleaner specifically meant for marble or store bought detergent. Switch out your cloth for a clean one when it gets dirty. In most cases your daily cleaning won t require more than a simple wipe down with warm water.

This is important for carrara marble because it contains iron and metallic deposits inside the stone. If you allow too much time to pass between bathroom cleaning sessions you will invite mildew soap scum and minerals to build up on your marble tiles. 3 spray or wipe the surface down with clean water. Sealing marble showers is typically not recommended however for carrara marble it is a best practice.

When water is cyclically applied. Wipe down the surface with warm water. Keep your marble tiles dry. It s a must to wait 3 weeks post install before you apply the marble sealer if testing shows the shower could be sealed.

However you should try to keep your stone as dry as possible. You should ideally wipe down your shower tiles a few times a week and dedicate one weekly session to a deeper clean. Remember to clean frequently.
